In Sept. 2011 I will officially be studying midwifery, this is something that has been in my heart to do for many years.
I had my first of three children 26 years ago. Although I am not sure that I knew midwives still existed then, I do know that pregnancy, labor, childbirth and motherhood itself forever changed me. It would be many years later before I could understand in my head what my heart knew to do. I had found a part of my life’s destiny.
So here I sit, on the threshold of many new things looking at the road ahead of me. The academic and clinical portions of my education, and even farther down that road leads to developing nations and refugee camps where I will work with women and infants that are at risk.
